Does Freo Z10 support 5Ghz WiFi?

The Narwal Freo Z10 only supports 2.4GHz WiFi and does not support 5GHz WiFi.

What should I do if the robot disconnects from the Freo Z10 app?

If your Freo Z10 shows an offline status or network disconnection, follow these 2 steps:
1. Verify 2.4GHz Network
Ensure your router's 2.4GHz band is active (required for smart devices).
2. Diagnostic Hotspot Test
● Enable a mobile hotspot with a simple password.
● Reconnect the robot to the app via the hotspot.

Freo Z10 Mapping Preparation

Dear user, before mapping, please prepare as follows:
1. Ensure the doors to rooms to be cleaned are open so the robot can explore without missing any room;
2. Put away obstacles on the floor, such as wires, clothes, books, etc.;
3. Ensure there are no obstacles near the base station for the robot to exit the base station properly;
4. When the robot is mapping, DO NOT get close to the robot, follow it, or block it; a distance of 2 meters should be kept;
5. DO NOT stand in the hallway or at the door during mapping, as this may cause mapping errors. After mapping, DO NOT move the base station;
For areas not covered by the map:
6. The robot will recognize areas not mapped during subsequent cleaning tasks and the user can tap the icon on the map of the homepage to update the map;
7. When the robot is relatively far away from a narrow passage, it may think that the passage is impassable after radar scanning. To increase mapping efficiency, the robot will skip relatively small areas. It will update the map during subsequent vacuuming tasks and complete the map with omitted narrow passages.

How to a Create Secondary Map?

The specific steps to create a secondary map are as follows:

1. Ensure the robot vacuum is in a state where it has completed mapping the current floor and has saved it as the main map. Move the robot vacuum to the new floor that needs cleaning and place it in a suitable starting position on that floor.

2. Open the Narwal Freo App, find the option to create a secondary map in the map management settings, and follow the app instructions step by step. Allow the robot to perform a complete cleaning on the new floor to build the map.

Device Homepage > Map > Map Management > Create a secondary map

3. Once the secondary map is created, you can move the robot to the corresponding floor and select the appropriate floor map to start multi-floor cleaning tasks. Please note that we do not recommend moving the base station and robot together to another floor for mapping. If you do move the base station, make sure to place it back in its original position.

Anti-Tangle Side Brush

Narwal innovatively design a Anti-Tangle side brush. By dynamically retracting the side brush arms, it reduces the attachment between the brush and hair. The airflow created during vacuuming then guides the hair to be sucked up by the roller brush, effortlessly untangling hair during the cleaning process.

What should I do to ensure the tangle-free system in optimal condition?

Freo Z10’s Anti-Tangle side brushes ensure smooth operation in two ways:

- During Cleaning: The side brushes automatically rotate forward/backward to loosen hair tangles

- Before Returning to Base Station: If tangles persist, the robot will activate a special detangling cycle while returning to the base station.

To maximize the Freo Z10's performance and minimize hair buildup, please follow these steps:

1. Clean the side brush Weekly (or After Heavy Use)

Note: If any non-human damage occurs within 3 months, please contact Narwal support for a replacement side brush.

2. Clean the Filter Regularly

We recommend cleaning the filter every two weeks (weekly if you have pets or long-haired occupants). A clogged filter reduces suction power, forcing the brushes to work harder and accumulate more hair. Tap the filter to remove dust, and if it gets damp, let it dry for 24 hours before reinserting.

3. Maintain Optimal Airflow

Replace the filter every 3-6 months and ensure the dust bag is kept under 80% full for optimal performance.

How does Narwal Freo Z10 achieve better edge cleaning through its MopExtend & EdgeSwing feature?

The Narwal Freo Z10 features an intelligent obstacle-detection system to dynamically adjust its edge-cleaning strategy:
1. Straight Wall Extension – The mop pad fully extends outward, ensuring complete coverage along flat walls.
2. Extend for Furniture Edges - When navigating furniture edges, the mop intelligently extends while swinging, eliminating blind spots with precision.
3. Automatic retraction – The mop retracts during turns, obstacle crossings, or navigation to avoid collisions.
4. Corner Reverse – In corners, the robot performs a targeted backward mopping pass to ensure complete coverage.
Featuring the industry’s first Dynamic Mopping Extension & Pressure System, the Freo Z10 delivers:
● Consistent 8N downward pressure even when extended
● Adaptive rotation speed (180 RPM normally, 120 RPM when extended)
This intelligent extension and pressure synergy ensures deep cleaning, effortlessly tackling stubborn dirt in edges and corners for truly comprehensive floor coverage.

What upgrades have been made to the cyclone tangle-free roller brush 2.0 compared to before?

The roller brush has been upgraded with a more flexible material, which can effectively reduce vibrations and lower the noise during operation.

How does the Narwal Freo Z10 clean carpets safely and effectively?

The Freo Z10 uses carpet-friendly technology to clean your carpets without damage. Here's how it works:
● Precision Sensors: Uses advanced ultrasound to detect carpets accurately—no mistaking tile gaps or hardwood floors for carpets.
● Auto-Raise Mop: Lifts the mop 12mm when crossing carpets to avoid wetting or staining them.
● Power Boost: Automatically increases suction for deep cleaning on carpets without using the mop.

Important Notes:
‒ The default setting avoids carpets to protect them. To enable carpet cleaning, go to the app and turn on Carpet Mode. The steps are: Map Editing > Carpet > Clean the Carpet.
‒ Works Best On: Carpets under 20mm thick with pile height ≤ 0.7cm. Thicker or denser rugs (like rubber-backed ones) may not be detected properly.
‒ Safety First: If your carpets exceed the limits, turn OFF carpet mode in the app to avoid issues.

Freo Z10 Cleaning Height

Dear user, the robot's height is 10.7cm. It is advisable to have a clearance of 14-15cm under beds/sofas. At this height, the robot can freely move in and out underneath furniture. If the clearance is slightly less, you can use furniture risers to elevate it, maintaining aesthetics while ensuring smooth movement for the robot.

Freo Z10 Obstacle Climbing Height

The Narwal Freo Z10 can handle obstacle heights of up to 20mm on clean, dry surfaces. But due to conditions like humidity, it can only cross an 18mm threshold during mopping and vacuuming. If the threshold is higher than 2cm, the robot may have difficulty crossing it, so it's recommended to purchase the threshold ramp.

Why Do the Side Brushes Spin at Different Speeds?

This is a normal & intentional behavior. The Narwal robot vacuum automatically adjusts side brush speeds based on cleaning needs:

Edge Cleaning Boost – The inner side brush spins faster when working along walls, ensuring debris is swept out efficiently from corners.
Wet/Dry Separation Control – During Vacuum and Mop task in a ZIP pattern, the side brush near the uncleaned area will operate normally, while the side brush near the cleaned area will retract into the robot's chassis. This ensures that the dust-laden sweeping mechanism does not come into contact with the wet, clean floor, preventing cross-contamination.

This adaptive brush system maintains thorough cleaning while preventing mess dispersion.
