Does FREO X ULTRA support 5Ghz WiFi?

Dear user, Freo Z Ultra supports 2.4GHz WiFi only and does not support 5GHz WiFi.

Freo Z Ultra Mapping Preparation

Dear user, before mapping, please prepare as follows:
1. Ensure the doors to rooms to be cleaned are open so the robot can explore without missing any room;
2. Put away obstacles on the floor, such as wires, clothes, books, etc.;
3. Ensure there are no obstacles near the base station for the robot to exit the base station properly;
4. When the robot is mapping, DO NOT get close to the robot, follow it, or block it; a distance of 2 meters should be kept;
5. DO NOT stand in the hallway or at the door during mapping, as this may cause mapping errors. After mapping, DO NOT move the base station;
For areas not covered by the map:
6. The robot will recognize areas not mapped during subsequent cleaning tasks and the user can tap the icon on the map of the homepage to update the map;
7. When the robot is relatively far away from a narrow passage, it may think that the passage is impassable after radar scanning. To increase mapping efficiency, the robot will skip relatively small areas. It will update the map during subsequent vacuuming tasks and complete the map with omitted narrow passages.

How long does it take for FREO Z ULTRA to create a map for the first time?

Dear user, for the first use, press and hold the base station function key to start mapping. Constructing a map for a 120-square-meter house takes about 7 minutes. After mapping is complete, the robot will return to the base station, and you can then command it to start working.
(Note: Please DO NOT move the base station after mapping. If the base station is moved, you need to start mapping again. After mapping is completed, the map will be saved permanently.)

Can the robot automatically recognize carpets during mapping? Or does it need to clean them first to recognize them?

During the initial mapping, the robot can visually recognize and add carpets. During subsequent cleaning tasks, the robot will continue to explore and recognize carpets.

How to remap if the area is wrong or the mapping fails?

A: Go to the home page of the APP - select FREO Z ULTRA to enter the device home page - click "Map" on the upper right corner - click Map Editing - click "Map List" on the upper right corner and then the Re-create Map button on the upper right corner of the main map to re-create the map.

How to adjust obstacle avoidance distance? What to do when the distance is too close?

In the upper right corner of the App, tap Settings > AI Obstacle Avoidance > Avoidance Strategy and select between two modes: intelligent and safe.
Intelligent: The robot will adjust the bypass distance based on different types of obstacles recognized through visual identification.
Safe mode: The robot will take a safer bypass distance directly to reduce collisions. However, this may lead to a certain degree of omission in cleaning.

How to adjust the frequency of heavy-duty detergent usage and how to manually activate it?

When the App is updated to 2.5.4 and the robot is updated to v01.01.10.37, users can set the frequency of heavy-duty detergent usage by tapping Settings (in the upper right corner of the App) > Freo Mind > Use Heavy-duty Detergent;
In the custom cleaning parameters with mopping, users can choose whether to use the heavy-duty detergent.

Freo Z Ultra Floor Material

Dear user, you can set different floor materials for various rooms in the App (Map Management > Floor), including "Tile," "Wood", and "Cobblestone." The robot will automatically adjust mop pressure and humidity on wooden floors based on your configuration to protect the wood. It will optimize its behavior on cobblestones for optimal cleaning efficiency.

How to deal with the poor cleaning effect of robot sweeping?

1. You are recommended to clean the dust bin and filter and clear hair on the roller brush and side brushes regularly, to prevent dust from overflowing during a cleaning task.
2. Check whether the dust bag is full. If yes, replace the dust bag timely.

Freo Z Ultra Carpet Recognition

Dear user, the robot will automatically lift the mop to vacuum the carpet, providing stronger suction power and avoiding wetting or contaminating the carpet.
Note: The robot can only recognize carpets with a thickness <20mm and a pile length ≤0.7cm. For thicker carpets, it is recommended to turn off carpet cleaning.

Robot

Freo Z Ultra Cleaning Height

Dear user, the robot's height is 10.9cm. It is advisable to have a clearance of 14-15cm under beds/sofas. At this height, the robot can freely move in and out underneath furniture. If the clearance is slightly less, you can use furniture risers to elevate it, maintaining aesthetics while ensuring smooth movement for the robot.

Freo Z Ultra Obstacle Climbing Height

Dear user, Freo Z Ultra can handle obstacle heights of up to 20mm on clean, dry surfaces. But due to conditions like humidity, it can only cross an 18mm threshold during mopping and vacuuming. If the threshold is higher than 2cm, the robot may have difficulty crossing it, so it's recommended to purchase the threshold ramp.

Inconsistent side brush speeds, one side faster than the other

When the robot cleans along the room edges, the right side brush spins faster than the left side brush: the robot always aligns itself towards the wall with the right side closer to it. The faster rotation on the right side helps ensure that edge debris is swept out and subsequently sucked in by the roller brush and vacuum inlet. When the robot approaches a previously cleaned area during Vacuum and Mop in a Zip-Route, the side brush on that side will stop rotating to prevent the dusty side brush from contacting the wet surface, avoiding contamination.

What types of obstacles and objects can visual recognition support?

Supported obstacles and objects include not limited to: furniture (sofas, beds, tables, chairs, carpets, etc.), obstacles (wires, plastic bags, paper, dirt), dirt (liquids, cat litter, pet feces), as well as pets.

The following scenarios may result in slight collisions or ineffective collision avoidance:

The following scenarios may result in slight collisions or ineffective collision avoidance:
1. When the ambient light is dim, the robot will automatically turn on the fill light. However, the range and intensity of the fill light are limited. In dark environments, the overall visual obstacle avoidance capability may be affected, leading to slight collisions due to delayed recognition;
2. When the visual obstacle avoidance module is directly exposed to strong light, similar to human eyes, the module may not be able to see the surrounding environment clearly, resulting in decreased obstacle avoidance capability;
3. When the robot encounters multiple low obstacles such as table legs or other obstacles, the front visual camera and right structured light may not fully cover all visual blind spots. If obstacles are at the left edge, the visual blind spots may lead to collisions during obstacle avoidance.
In response to the above scenarios, we will continue to optimize the obstacle avoidance algorithm, increase recognition distance, and improve recognition accuracy.

How to adjust the downward force of the mopping module?

NARWAL Freo Z Ultra boasts visual recognition of floor materials. The robot will intelligently adjust the pressure of the mopping module on the floor according to the different floor materials, without the need for manual settings. When the robot detects liquid waste, it will also intelligently adjust the pressure of the mopping module on the floor in dirty areas for better cleaning results.

How are heavily soiled rooms identified? How does cleaning differ?

The robot visually recognizes heavily soiled rooms such as the kitchen, balcony, bathroom, and dining room (or can be manually set in Map Editing). In the Freo Mind mode, the robot automatically adjusts cleaning parameters for heavily soiled rooms for intensive cleaning.

How to use the heavy-duty detergent?

With heavy-duty detergent installed, if the set trigger frequency is met when the robot is cleaning heavily soiled rooms in Freo Mind, it will use the heavy-duty detergent. Alternatively, in other modes, it can be manually activated in the cleaning parameter settings.

Can I use detergents and disinfectants from other brands?

No. Narwal adopts a mild, low-foaming detergent to protect the sophisticated structure and accessories from corrosion so that the robot can maintain good performance. The use of detergents from other brands may cause exceptions in the robot, such as dirt detection failure, pumping failure, overflowing at the base station, and shorter service life. Problems caused by the use of detergents from other brands are not covered by the warranty!

When the base station has not collected dust, a large amount of waste and dirt will spill when removing the insert bin. How to correctly use the dust bin and insert bin?

The insert bin is consumable, and you don't need to remove it to empty the waste. It should be rinsed or replaced after the waste is emptied. NARWAL Freo Z Ultra boasts base station dust collection. Users are not recommended to take out the dust bin to empty the waste.

What is the dust bag health index? How to use it?

The dust bag health index can be seen in the Base Station Features of the App. It changes based on the usage time of the dust bag, disinfection status, and the environment of use. Users can view the current status of the dust bag through this view and visually determine whether the dust bag needs to be replaced.

Freo Z Ultra Side Brush Design

Dear user, Freo Z Ultra's side brushes support position and speed control in different scenarios. The two rows of bristles allow better position control to avoid contamination by the wet and dry garbage; and at the same time, it can reduce hair entanglement.

Freo Z Ultra Cleaning Tray Advantages

Freo Z Ultra has added rubber strips on both sides to prevent water from splashing onto the robot's charging contacts during mop washing, which could cause damage to the electronic components due to moisture.

Freo Z Ultra Dust Bag Advantages

Dear user, the dust bag of Freo Z Ultra has the following advantages over the dust bin:
1. Larger capacity: The base station dust bag has a capacity of 2.5L
2. No need for cleaning and maintenance: The base station dust bag does not need to be cleaned like the dust bin, just throw it away when it's full;
3. No dust floating around: The dust will not float around when the dust bag is thrown away;
4. The dust bag and filter are integrated. When replacing the dust bag, you're getting the robot a new "fresh air system", which can not only efficiently filter dust and allergens for long-lasting anti-bacterial effect, but ensure strong cleaning performance.

Freo Z Ultra Insert Bin

Dear user, Freo Z Ultra innovatively separates the inner part of the dust bin that comes into contact with waste and uses environmentally friendly materials. After a certain period of usage, users only need to remove and discard the insert bin and replace it with a new one. There is no contact with dirt throughout the process, and maintenance difficulty is nearly zero.

Freo Z Ultra Floor Maintenance

Dear user, Freo Z Ultra can work with the maintenance module and maintainer. It can send the maintainer deep into the pores of wood, which tightly combine with wood fibers to form a film on wooden floors and provide long-lasting protection for the floor.
Note: The floor maintenance is not a standard feature. Additional purchase of maintenance module and maintainer is needed.

Ingredients of Floor Maintainer and Heavy-duty Detergent

Dear user, the main ingredients of the floor maintainer include water, nonionic surfactants, brightening film-forming agents, essence, preservative, and pH-adjusting agent.
The main ingredients of the heavy-duty detergent include surfactants, builders, penetrating agents, antibacterial agents, fragrances, and purified water.

Freo Z Ultra Consumable Replacement
